Dyslexia More common than you thought?
1 in 10 more like 1 in 5 where do they get their stats from?
Recently The Diverse Creative CIC took to the streets to find out what kind of effects dyslexia plays in the lives of others living thought it each day, the common thread we found was a lot to do with confidence and people being afraid of being labeled as stupid. With our founder being dyslexic we have been able to get a better understanding of what it really means to be dyslexic in a creative environment. She informed us that she had spent at least 10 years hiding away from her learning disability and was even bullied by senior members of management for making mistakes in previous jobs, Remi truly believes the problem is way bigger than just spelling, reading, and writing but lack of consideration and society's assumption that everyone is able or should be capable of the same things is so crippling.
“I myself cannot spell. Have never been able to. I do not pay attention to spelling and mix letters.”
-Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway
The dyslexic community are convinced that at least 1 in 5 people have some form of dyslexia, research in underway and we hope to have an update for you in the near future.
